Take Flight
Museum of Science + Industry Chicago
Collaborating with a team of designers, fabricators, and engineers, I played a vital role in crafting multiple captivating installations for the "Take Flight" exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.
Roto’s team developed and fabricated a series of brand-new interactives to bring the historic jet age into the modern era, including opening up the back of the plane to provide a more detailed perspective, highlighted with extraordinary lighting features. Outside the plane, visitors find a 150-foot display to guide their understanding of complex systems from aircraft assembly all the way through take off.
In my role as a production designer, I provided essential support for the design and construction of the structures, meticulously generating detailed shop drawings, CNC cut files, and 3D Solidworks models that served as the blueprint for fabricating and constructing the exhibits.
